Fashion Show at The Cotswold School [Photo Gallery]
The Cotswold School held a Fashion Show at the school on 21st October and decided to donate the proceeds to Kate's. It was organised by a 6th form pupil called Naomi Cull and Anna Wheeler attended on behalf of Kate's. The show was covered by The Cotswold Journal.

Anna met Naomi's mother and younger brother and discovered the reason they nominated Kate's was due to the wonderful help the whole family received from the nursing team during Naomi's father, Paul's illness. Sadly Paul died from Motor Neurones disease about 2 years ago.

In Naomi's words:- "The Fashion Show was organised by myself, Georgia Loveridge and Lucy Holland, all 17 years old and in upper sixth form. We chose to support Kate's because of the incredible support you gave my family when my father was ill. He was diagnosed with Motor Neurone disease and his condition deteriorated so quickly that we all, my mother especially, felt completely out of our depth; Kate's nurses were such a comfort and so reassuring. This was just our way of saying thankyou!"

We will update the website with the amount raised and hopefully some photos, but in the meantime thank you Naomi, Georgia and Lucy for all your hard work and for your kindness. It is absolutely wonderful that young people such as yourselves are willing to give up your time to help Kate's continue to care for those who need it.

Kate's Golf day at Naunton Downs Golf Club
A highly successful day was had at the Naunton Downs Golf Club. Eighty Eight players competed in a pairs competition helped around by "Pimms" and refreshments on the way. After the Golf other guests joined with the players in an informal Dinner followed by a Charity Auction. Each hole was sponsored by a local business, and generous gifts were given from the local community to assist the Raffle and Auction.

Kates were most grateful for the kindness and support from the Local Community and Businesses which helped them raise approximately £5,300 on the day. To see some photos, click here.

The Schotten Hickory Tournament 2010:
Every year Manfred and Gabi Schotten, of Manfred Schotten Antiques in Burford, host an annual Hickory Golf Tournament at Burford Golf course. This year the event was held on Friday 23rd July and over sixty players entered into the spirit of the day by dressing up in a variety of old golfing (and non golfing) costumes to play a round of golf with a set of wooden shafted hickory clubs. The day was a great success and the Schottens kindly donated all the profit through sponsorship, an auction and raffle to Kate's Home Nursing and raised an amazing £5,685 for the charity.
